Greens promote festive buses

20 December 2008

Green Party councillors have been out promoting bus services which will be running for the first time for 15 years on Boxing Day and New Year's Day at a reduced, flat-rate fare of £1. Green councillors proposed bank holiday bus services over the festive season in the 2008/9 budget. They handed out leaflets at city centre bus stops to advertise services which will link in with trams.

Cllr Bernard Little commented, "I'm really glad that this hole in our public transport system is being filled. Action by elected Green Councillors will mean that shoppers, sports fans, hospital visitors and families will not be left stranded over the festive period. "
