Climate Change Protest

9th December 2007

On Saturday, 8th December, determined climate change protesters met in pouring rain at Sheffield Town Hall to support simultaneous action worldwide.

Organised by Sheffield Green Party and Campaign against Climate Change the protesters sent a clear message to the world leaders meeting in Bali to set targets for CO2 reduction.

The message was 'Less is more!' - less waste, less cars, less CO2 - and more public transport and better health and quality of life.

Bernard Little, Green councillor, spoke on needed and achievable targets for Sheffield, while Nick Clegg, for the Lib Dems spoke on how this crucial issue had just helped topple Howard in Australia - another wake up call to the world.

The protest also tied in with Christian Aid action on Fargate.
