Green Councillors Conference
18th July 2007
Sheffield Green Councillors
Jillian Creasy and Bernard Little will be talking about the Sheffield
floods and the effects of climate change at the Association of
Green Councillors' annual conference in London on 20 and 21st
July. The Myers Grove/Wisewood issue and the party's policy of
supporting local comprehensive schools will also be high on their
agenda.
Cllr Bernard Little said. "This is a valuable
opportunity to exchange best practice and ideas with the 110 Green
Councillors in England. I am particularly looking forward to talking
with London Assembly members Darren Johnson and Jenny Jones, who
have had a huge impact on pushing energy conservation, green transport
and crime reduction policies in London. They have shown how working
together in a practical way where you can with other political
parties has distinct benefits for the whole community. This is
what the Greens in Sheffield are also doing."
