Greens Help Save Wisewood School

6th June 2007

Green Cllrs supported the Lib Dem proposal to stop the closure of the two community schools.

Cllr Little said: “Green Party policy is all about keeping things local. We believe that schools should be in the heart of the community they serve. Schools do more than get children through exams, they are about preparing them to be life long learners and teaching them to be good citizens. Smaller schools have particular financial and organisational challenges, but there are problems with big schools too. We want all players – parents, teachers, politicians and council officers - to come together to make the model of real community schools work in Sheffield.”
