Greens Expect Climate Change Boost
in Council Elections
4th April 2007
As nominations closed,
Sheffield Green Party announced they are fielding a full slate
of candidates in the council elections on May 3rd and expect another
surge in their city wide vote with climate change now a key issue.
Election Agent Eamonn Ward comments : "Cllr
Jillian Creasy, who is seeking re-election in Central ward, has
been driving the green agenda in the city alongside Cllr Bernard
Little. Other key issues for the Green party in the election will
be improving public transport, support for the local economy and
decent, affordable housing. These issues are resonating with ordinary
people in Sheffield and we are positive about our prospects in
this election."
