Comment on Goverment Grant
money for Transport Congestion
8th February 2007
Rob Murphy, Transport Spokesperson said, "Here
we see the reality of an underfunded, confused system with no
real vision to overcome the problems of the moment or the future.
It's time to start learning from the mistakes of the past. It
is just not good enough to say car ownership is increasing. This
is also true in London, but there traffic levels are falling.
This will not happen in Sheffield without some major decisions
being made to prioritise public transport and regulate bus services,
something the council seems reluctant to do."
