Transport
There are too many cars
on Sheffield's roads, causing congestion, pollution and stress.
The Council's traffic management policies - road widening and traffic
light systems - only make the problem worse.
Building more roads, car parks and airports is
expensive for the taxpayer, damages the environment and actually
produces more traffic. Encouraging people to drive less helps fight
climate change and reduces local air pollution. We need safe, cheap
and convenient alternatives to the car. Public transport currently
is expensive, confusing and unreliable, and alternatives are underfunded
and given low priority.
